Chickcribs's Chicken Coop

Thanks for visiting.
We live in South Eastern Pennsylvania, outside of Philadelphia, on a 1 acre lot that includes a barn. The property used to be a chicken farm years ago, owned by a local hukster. But for the past 40 years, it hasn't seen another chicken. After much prodding to my wife, and with the help of our girls, we convinced my wife to get some chicks. We choose 6 Rhode Island Reds for our first experience. In the process of researching what's involved, we found this site. I was able to get many ideas for coops from this site and decided to add my coop as well. After spending a few hours figuring out a layout, I made plans on the computer and got my basic layout. I wanted the coop to be large enough to have a section for storage, an external nesting box and something that I could stand in without much trouble. I also wanted to make the outside pen tall enough to be able to stand comfortably when we need to go on and clean. Plus, we have had a lot of help from some great friends and neighbors. My one buddy came all the way down from Maine to visit and I put him to work. So here it goes.....Note: You can click on any of the pics for a larger picture.

Might be good to set the images to a smaller size & over to the left side so that it doesn't hide behind the right panel/column of the website.
