This coop was originally a wooden swingset. The swingset "A-Frame" was used as the basic frame for a children's playhouse and walls/roof were added to the wooden A-Frame. Since we don't have any children, we easily converted the playhouse into a cozy chicken coop by just adding insulation (gets really cold here!), a ramp (where the slide used to be), linoleum over the wooden floor for easier cleaning and a fenced run onto the outside. Our girls love their coop and run so it worked out perfectly!

Here is what it originally looked like as a playhouse...

Gave it some new paint!

Added a secured fenced run with privacy wall...we have a dog that kept breaking into the coop run so we ended up with a layer of chicken wire, covered by a think grade "wire" fencing (secured with large u-nails so that the dog could not tear it off) and finally...electric fencing. The bottom boards of the run also are buried 6" underground for extra security.

And converted the interior by adding nest boxes (with a window view), insulation, hung the feeders with a screw hook and chain, added lineoleum, and a roost!

Turned out cozy!
