Firek Happy Chicken Farm

We are just putting the finishing touches on our 10 x 10 coup!  Dave designed it so that there was a sheltered "egg collection" area for me to store feed, bedding, egg cartons, etc.  It is covered in Hemlock on the exterior, the interior has reclaimed wood from a farm down the road.  My husband is a contractor, so a lot of the materials were from homes that were replacing windows or doors.  It has been relatively low cost - just lumber and stain.  The roof has an egg inlay that he did for me!  What a guy!  We have 16 Golden Comets who started laying at only 14 weeks!  We homeschool so this has been a great experience for all of us!

700entrance - egg station is enclosed - for protection against the elements!

700foundation - we actually used old telephone pole to sink into the ground with cement to build our foundation
