Additional Information L. Livestock Prohibited Within The City Limits: Except as allowed by applicable zoning regulations, it shall be unlawful for any person to stable, keep, pasture or maintain within the city limits any livestock, domestic fowl or any animal of a wild or nondomestic species; however, any livestock or domestic fowl present prior to the effective date hereof may remain. If, however, the property where such animals have been kept becomes vacant and remains so for one year\'s time, no more animals will be allowed. (Ord. 655, 12-12-1995) The code does state that any coop or facility that chickens are kept be 100 feet from any residential structure and that the chicken be kept in a secure facility such as a chicken coop or run. No free ranging allowed it seems. Setbacks: 1. Buildings or confinement areas (not perimeter fencing), for animals and poultry shall not be closer than forty feet (40\\\') from any existing residential structure not on the property, and not less than twenty feet (20\\\') from the property lines, whichever is greater. (Ord. 898-08, 9-8-2008) 2. The feeding or sheltering of animals or poultry in penned enclosures shall not be within one hundred feet (100\\\') of any adjacent residential structure. (Ord. 905-09, 3-23-2009) B. Site Layout: Animals and poultry shall be maintained within fences, buildings, or confined feeding/watering areas. (Ord. 898-08, 9-8-2008) C. Limitations: The overall animal density shall not exceed the following: two (2) horses; or two (2) cows; or two (2) llamas; or two (2) hogs; or four (4) lambs; or four (4) sheep or four (4) goats, per acre or an equivalent animal density as approved by the planning official.
