How do you make a Chicken feeder in less than 60 seconds for FREE?

 

Do you or any of your friends ever go to Costco and buy those 100 pack of blank DVDs and then you have that plastic container left? 

 

step 1: cut holes. Avoid damaging the tabs that stick out. These tabs will be used to screw into the base.

step 2: Screw the top into the base. Place on plate/wide bowl with a lip.

step 3: feed hungry birds

These are so cheap you can have 3 or 4 of them in your coop. For me, this worked perfect for 8 of my 3 week old chicks. It's fantastic because you can see how much feed is left and whether it's time to refill.

This is a great idea! Does this work with adult chickens too, or are they able to knock them over?
I'd think thy'd knock it over, but seems like an awesome idea for chicks and youngsters!
thanks, I always have a few and felt bad throwing then away. As a thought, this would be great to hang by an eyebolt, then they couldn't knock it over!
