Chapter 7, Article 5, Section 7-175 states cannot keep chickens closer than 100 feet to the nearest portion of any building occupied by or in anywise used by human beings. There is no set number of roosters and chickens you can keep as this will be determined by your address. Unified Government of Wyandotte County in Kansas City, KS will help you understand the ordinances for this county in regards to keeping livestock but they will direct you to Animal Control who can tell by your address if you are zoned an agricultural area. If you are not zoned as an agricultural area, you will then need a permit and Animal Control will let you how many chickens and roosters you can have. If you are zoned an agricultural area you do not need a permit but Animal Control will still let you know how many chickens and roosters you can keep as the number of roosters and chickens you can keep are determined by the address.
