Additional Information\"Animal, poultry\" means domesticated birds (fowl) customarily kept for eggs or meat. This classification includes chickens, roosters, ducks, geese, and turkeys. 4. Within 35 feet of any dwelling unit and 25 feet of any residential property line, no barn, pen, coop, or other structure or area containing exotic animals, livestock, or poultry shall be maintained. See Chapter 21.30. Raising of poultry animals: a. Up to a combination of 12 poultry animals per 10,000 square feet of land P2 b. More than 12 poultry animals per 10,000 square feet of land CUP2 9.20.010 Prohibited acts. It is unlawful for any person to do or perform any of the following: (1) Sell, offer for sale, barter or give away in connection with any business, or the operation thereof, which is required to be licensed in the city under the provisions of the business license ordinance, as pets, toys, premiums, or novelties any baby chickens, ducklings, or other fowl under three weeks of age, or rabbits under two months of age; or (2) Color dye, stain or otherwise change the natural color of the above described fowl or rabbits; or (3) Bring or transport the aforesaid fowl or rabbits into the city. (Ord. 60 § 1 (part), 1963; prior code § 4350). 9.20.020 Exceptions. The provisions of subsections (1) and (3) of Section 9.20.010 shall not apply to the sale or display of any of the fowl or rabbits described in Section 9.20.010, in proper facilities by breeders, pet stores, or stores engaged in the business of selling for commercial breeding or raising, or for food, or their exhibition at any fair, show or exhibit where such fowl or animals are displayed for commercial purposes or displayed in the interest of improving agriculture or industry.
