Within the city of Melbourne - you can keep up to four hens - no roosters - but must obtain a free permit from Melb City Zoning. Families within the Melbourne City Limits are not subject to the Brevard County law. Brevard County law allows 1 hen (no rooster) per family in non-rural areas but that may be changing soon.
