Ruby is the name of our Rhode Island Red hen. We haven't had Ruby since birth but we have had her for about 4 months. So I have lots to tell! A friend had ask us to look at this chicken she had that might be sick. So we looked at her and we decided she was sick, so then we brought her to our house to nurse her back to health. Well we nursed her back to health but in the mean time we fell in love with her. So we asked if we could "adopt" her. Thankfully she said yes and we were able to keep her. And what a wonderful blessing she is! She is so docile and sweet, RIR must be very affectionous birds. She has quite the personality about her too. She is so spunky and chirpy! Also Ruby loves any fruity treat you will give her, unlike our other birds! :P Ruby also (thank goodness) hasn't gone broody yet. Although she still does lay quite a bit of eggs. We usually get about 6-7 eggs a week. They are medium sized and brown. Any way you look at it Ruby is a beauty and a joy in our home! She will always be loved here!!!!
