Save A Chick

Baby chicks can be a wonderful part of any family.  Unfortunately every year thousands of the chicks don't receive the care they need.  For this reason our forum community has come together to create the "Save A Chick Campaign".  

 

We need your help!

Below are a few brochures and postcards designed by our forum members.  Print these and hand them out to new chick owners or give them to your local feed stores to pass out to their customers.

Some people really need this brochure......parents by some baby chicks on Easter for their kids, neither parents nor the children have any experience with chickens whatsoever. The chicks is pretty much like a toy for the day, then it dies.....
Lucky my family always depends on us to bring the baby chicks and rabbits to the Easter party, because then they have a good home to come back to afterwords.
Dont let any of your friends by chicks or rabbits just because it's easter, if they're gona buy some, it better be because they are going to keep it and care for it, not keep it and let their kids play with it for a while, then shove it to the side and let it die after the holiday has passed......
So if anyone brings some animals to the party, please guys, make sure that person already had the animals to start with, and didn't just get them for that day.........but if they did, then thats why Nifty made the brochure, and please give it to them.....

RUNT CHICK we have a runt chick that keaps being pecked at and stepped on whats wrong with it it drinks plenty and eats little i have sperated it from the other chicks to keap it from being beaten up more she has been pecked in a eye today. she now has her own food and water source in her private box. she does have a window to see the other chicks and a wall to protect her from the other chicks but we are worried about her she doesnt move very often and stumbles once in a while. how do we make her healthy.

I printed a copy of the Save a Chick brochure for my neighbors. Their adult kids are thinking about getting a couple of chickens for their mom. She has always wanted some chickens and they are wanting to get them for her birthday. They don't know anything about chickens (nor do I for that matter) and weren't sure where to begin. They heard that we were getting chickens and started asking us questions, so I printed off this brochure for them for reference. I'm sure it will help them.
THANKS to everyone who helped put this brochure together. I'm sure it will save some baby chicks!!!
