Whitey.jpg

Here is a pic of one of the first chickens i ever had. My grandpa was getting rid of his chickens and asked me if i wanted some, so i took some. she was reli tame you could hold your arm out and she would jump up on it. the same night we got her we also got 2 other hens and 1 roster. my mom thought the ro was too lough so we took him back. on the way back home from dropping the ro off the white chicken (in the pic above) escaped from our old dog kennel that has 8foot high sides and then ran across the road and under a pine tree in the neighbors yard (aprox. 500 feet away) luckly my mom saw her otherwise we would have no clue where she went.

little chickens.jpgHere is a pic of my lil chicks. They just happened to line up when i took it. Not sure of the breeds we just got some left over chickens from a mill close by. the tan one on the right side we called "lil guy" because he was the smallest. my sister thought it was a dumb name. turned out he reli was a guy! figured it out when he stared crowing. smile.png lol

Onward with your wonderful brood!
Creatures give us all a much better idea of grace........
Congratulations, we've chosen one of your chicken pics for the Picture Of the Week. Thanks for posting your chickens to our "My Chickens" pages! You can find more info about our POW here: BYC POW process.
I love the Pictures of your Chickens, the little white one on your arm looks so sweet sleeping there. The hen on the small branch of the tree looks like she is enjoying being high up and safe. I do like the way you have reconverted your dog house into a chicken coop.
Thank you so much for sharing your pictures.

Enjoyed seeing the pictures of your chicks.....photoshop picture is too cute. Thanks for sharing.
I like the last one..... and that is a very clever idea of converting your old dog house into a coop! And I have two buff orpington hens, and Li'l Guy looks kind of like them! So you never know!
Thank you for sharing these pictures.
Its pretty easy to see how much they are loved.
i also started out with a chicken like whitey ........ I Love my chickens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so cute i love lil guy!
I love the sweet picture of whitey sleeping on your arm!
How tall is the cahin-linked fence? Do they fly out of it?
lil guy is a buff orpington, they are such a docile , friendly breed. My #1 hen Plucky died last saturday, as the mites just did a number on her poor lil body, and all the other chickens were beating her up , by the time i thought of washing her and combing them out , she was much weaker than i am and i'm going thru chemo therapy, and she didn't make it, and i am mourning her and feel i let her down. Your whitey has a comb that hangs to the side just like Plucky's did, also she loved close up photos of herself. R.I.P
littleplucky thats sad :( u have chemo and your chicken died
