Additional Information There are no ordinances stating chickens and roosters cannot be kept. Per Chapter 15.04.030 it\\\'s definition of \\\"Animal\\\" means: every nonhuman species of animal, both domestic and wild, including fowl, but not including fish. Per the following ordinances we can assume that as long as the chickens and roosters do not become a nuisance, both noise and sanitary wise, it\\\'s okay to keep them. It\\\'s not going to be easy to keep a rooster and keep from breaking the noise ordinance, so I\\\'m figuring, unless you\\\'re quite a distance from your neighbors, it\\\'s probably best to not keep roosters. Chapter 15.04.080 states regarding Animal nuisances: D.Allow an animal to make disturbing noises, including, but not limited to, continued and repeated howling, barking, whining, or other utterances causing unreasonable annoyance, disturbance, or discomfort to neighbors or others in close proximity to the premises where the animal is kept or harbored; E.Allow an animal to cause an unsanitary, dangerous, or offensive condition because of the size or number of animals in a single location or because an animal facility, enclosure or its surroundings is not appropriate for the animal or is not properly maintained; A. Allow an animal to damage or defecate on property outside the owner\\\'s property. An animal may defecate on public property or the common area of property in which the owner shares an interest if the owner immediately removes and disposes of the feces by a sanitary method approved by the City; Chapter 14.12.090 states regarding Animals: No person shall allow a dog, bird, or other animal in his or her possession or control to persistently, habitually, or continuously bark, howl, yelp, or make other loud noise common to its species, and cause a noise disturbance to any person or to the neighborhood.
