Do chickens talk to each other? Many people beleive that they don't. Are the correct? Nope! Chickens do communicate with one another.   This experiement was done by a scientist. He took a recording of a certain chicken's noise and played it back to the flock. The flock begin to look at the ground, as if they were searching it. Mainly roosters and broody hens make this sound. My chickens:  Six Rhode Island Reds   They LOVE the porch for some reason.   The garage is their temporary home in a pen made from a dog crate and pallets....         Their coop is still in the making... waiting on my hubby!       My coop... so far:     It will be 4 ft by 8 ft when finished...   Hubby used linoleum for the floor for easier cleaning..   It's a fine worm early spring morning the farmers wife is in the garden humming to herself, the farmer is leading the children around on there pony, the cows and horses graze peacefully as you and the rest of the flock peck around there feet looking for bugs. What I didn't know about ducks...   So my mom has had lots of chance to repeat this quote over the years, "One duck is a mess but two ducks are three times the mess." I can remember hearing this often when my brother or I would get into some sort of trouble, and we had a couple of baby ducks at one point. I don't remember them being around for too long, or at this point even what happened to them, so many years ago. But I do remember helping take care of them or so I thought. I will hopefully be branching into other breeds and variety's soon but at the moment I have bantam SLW, Bantam Dark Cornish, and Golden neck D'uccles.
