I just finished my new scratch shed. I based it off of the Dr. Prince T. Woods open air poultry coop.

Got covers for those side windows in the winter?

The side windows open "in" and hook to the ceiling.



I still need to fabricate hardware to operate the monitor windows, they are just propped open for now.

That's a good looking coop. I really like that board&batten look. Wish I would have built mine like that.

Thanks Jack. I do need to thank you for posting your coop, it inspired me to buy Dr. Woods' book when I was doing the research to build my own coop. It is such a simple yet smart design.

I built it out of lumber that came from large sized industrial pallets that gave me some nice and big 2"x8" planks. The board and batten construction just made sense with what I had on hand, plus I like the look.

Also, it all went together with hand tools, no power.

Beautiful x 2! Very nice coop! Where are you located? I like the gentle pitch to your upper roof. We can get some pretty bad snow/ice storms where I live and after losing a couple buildings a few years back from that combination I went steeper than yours for what I hope will hold up. Splendid job!
