My 4month old barred Plymouth Rock is it a rooster or a hen this is my first time with chickens so can someone help? It's making sounds that my for sure hens aren't making.

The light coloration does indicate that you might have a cockerel on your hands. He's so beautiful, by the way! I'm jealous.....

Yes, he's a he, and no, he's not show quality. He'd probably do fine in 4-H or similar, but at an APA show he'd be sorely outclassed.
