We bought three americauna chicks in March, and two have turned out to look just like the pictures I've seen of americaunas, but the third looks like this... I'm sorry it's not a better photo. What is she?? This is my first experience with chickens so I know nothing about breeds.

Got the right color legs for Ameraucana. Any signs of a muff or beard coming on? If not, not Ameraucana.

Thanks for your input. I had read that about americaunas/Easter eggers. I was beginning to wonder if she was a he, but s/he is about five months old now and no crowing or anything. Does that matter? No cheek puffs or anything, which the other two have.

He's definitely a cockerel, with those dark red feathers on the shoulders, male saddle feathers, and male hackle feathers. Some cockerels don't start crowing until after 6 months old, it's completely normal.

Yikes! What do I do with a boy?? Guess I have to change his name...

Thanks for the welcome fshinggrl!
