1 week old chicks, but might need to go out of town

These are our camera shy 1 week olds. We have 22 total.

Just found out tonight that my father-in-law is in poor health and we might have to go out of town. Its a 14 hour drive. So we'd be gone for a day or 2. Our retired neighbor has had chickens and has been over often, fully capable of checking on them, watering and feeding them. We'd take the dog with us so there wouldn't be any other animals in the house. Any other considerations if I clean the brooder right before we leave.

Very nervous. We hatched these ourselves and its our first chickens in over 25 years.

I'd plan as if I'd be gone a week or so, just in case. If you trust your neighbor to take good care of them, then off you go.
