Another Roo or Pullet thread...

This is one of our 21 week old blue cochins. My husband always had a feeling this one was a roo. Always said it had a masculine look compared to the other one. Also seemed to act more like a boy somehow. We always dismissed it because any pictures we could find for the given age showed a much larger comb and wattles. This one was sick and had an injured leg for about a month, so we were thinking it could possibly have stunted growth from that.

After looking at them more closely we are starting to notice the tail feathers on this one appear to be more pointed than the other. The tail feathers also seem to curve down more.

What do you guys think, cockerel or pullet?

Now at 33 weeks


The other cochin is definitely a girl.

Looks like a hen that's going to start laying soon.

It just makes me think so because of the huge feather difference between the two cochins. It is starting to get those shiny pointy neck feathers you see on most roosters and does not have those rounded feathers the other pullet has.

This is an adult bantam cochin rooster, you can clearly see hackle and saddle feathers, compare it to yours.
