Painting the coop

Our coop needs a little face-lift and was wondering if it would be safe to paint the exterior while they are inside or out in the run? The coop has excellent ventilation, just want to know if the fumes will bother them.

I don't think it will cause any harm, but make sure you "secure" your paint buckets and brushes. They may decide to help or mistake the paint for treats
