We were just given 8 dark brown/black hens of the same breed. I haven't seen chickens that look like these before and can't find a picture that looks similar. They have an iridescent green on the tips of their feathers that didn't quite show up in the picture.

Any ideas?

A better pic is needed for identifying the red bird but it's likely either a Production Red (if it lacks white underfluff and white feathers in the tail) or a Red Sex Link (if it has white underfluff and white feathers in the tail).

I am now thinking that the brown hen could be a red star
I had red stars and she has the brownish feathers on her neck like them

Red Star is one of a number of labels under which some hatcheries (Murray McMurray for example) market their Red Sex Links. If she is a Red Star she will have white underfluff and likely some white feathers in the tail (which can't be seen in the photo).
