getting ready to set some Japanese quail eggs

I'm preparing to set up my incubator to set some quail eggs. Hopefully they will hatch out this year.

Is it your first time incubating quail eggs?

No I had 2 years of bad hatching from them. My chicken eggs all did great those 2 years.

Bad as in none of them hatched or just a few?

None bad

Oh, ok. Were they fertilized? One of my friends had some quail she that she tried to breed but they didn't hatch. She later found out they weren't fertilized.

Yes they are.

Hmm, well then I'm not sure what might have happened to them. Let's hope your future batches hatch.

I know I want to replace my stock with fresh this year.

Couple things to know:
99.5 to 100 F
Turn eggs 3-4 times/day
Humidity 40-50% , lock down 60-70%
Lock down day 14
Hatch day 18

Don't open the incubator during lockdown

Float test > candle
