Chain link accident

My female Chinese gosling broke her neck by putting her head through a link in her kennel and then turning her head back and catching her beak in another link. I think one strong flap of her wings with her head cocked and stuck did her in. We are so heart broken... she was only 2 months old and turning into a beauty. Her turkey poult buddies are also broken and lost without her. Has anyone had this issue with a chainlink dog kennel trapping a goose like that? I hope it was a freak accident and not something commonly known as an issue. Thanks for your input.

so sorry for your loss. I have not heard of that, but can picture how it could happen. We have a 1 inch plastic that we wrap the lower part of all enclosures. It seems duck and geese babies are expert at finding ways to hurt themselves.
