You can tell a bird is cockerel from several signs. The first and most obvious is that cockerels' combs and wattles grow in faster and turn red much sooner than pullets'. You can also looks for long, shiny, pointy feathers coming in on the neck and above the tail. These are feathers that only roosters get. And your bird is being to grow in his sickle feathers, the long curved tail feathers that only roosters get. That is another sign a bird is male. Hope this helps!
