yuck, roundworms

i have about 40 laying chickens which free range. i just found a round worm in the feces this morning and have no idea from which hen it came. i have ivermectin and valbendazole, but would like some idea on how to worm a large group of chickens more easily than having to handle each one and dose it individually. thanks...

Roundworms can be treated quickly and easily by using Wazine in their water. I believe the course of treatment is two days.

It's not legally labeled, no. But neither are any of the other wormers or medications frequently used in poultry, including a goodly amount my vet has prescribed me herself (Wazine among them, though that was a recommendation, not a prescription). It's quite safe, though a two to three egg withdrawal period is recommended so we humans don't accidentally ingest any unnecessary substances.
