I went to let out my birds and found my male Golden dead. The pens are completely enclosed and the flyways during the day have netting to protect them. He was fine the day before. He was running around as usual the day before. When I picked him up I noticed he had blood coming out both eyes. The female seems to be fine. Any ideas? I have other pheasants in pens and runs next to this one and they are fine. So frustrating. Been so careful with these birds.

I agree I've had it happen a couple times over the years. Best way to prevent it is to give the birds lots of hiding places so they can feel less exposed as well as potentially putting a tarp or "blinder" on the side of the coop so he birds don't see out of the pen at ground level.
