If I breed a frizzle male with a smooth hen that has the frizzle gene, will the outcome be good or do I need a smooth hen with no frizzle gene?

Thanks

The way I understand the Frizzle gene it is dominant but if you get two Frizzle genes at that gene pair it is lethal. The chick dies. So you have two choices. If you breed the Frizzle rooster to a Frizzle hen, ¼ of the chicks will die, ½ of the chicks will be frizzle, and ¼ of the chicks will be smooth.

The other choice is to breed your Frizzle rooster to a smooth hen. That way half the chicks will be Frizzle and half will be smooth. None should be dead. I think I know which way I’d go.
