Ok guys i want some opinions/advice...

Recently as we down here have been in Summer, most of my chicken eggs have been quite porous. I was going to put some in the incubator but everywhere i read said not too hatch porous eggs.

Heres what i want to know - does the temperature you store eggs at affect the porosity of them. The ones i kept at room temperature here were all very porous where as The ones i have in the fridge are not.

I read that you should store eggs between 40-60 fahrenheit so between 4 and 15 celcius. I have started storing some eggs for incubating at 6 degrees in the fridge and I'll see if it makes a difference.

I believe eggs become porous for several reasons:

The first is age, and that is related to the next 2.
The older the egg the more likley it is to become porous.
Being stored in a warm environment.
Being stored in a dry environment.

So keeping them at 6 degrees or a little warmer sounds good.

Finally if hens are short on calcium the eggs are more likley to be porous or become porous.
