Galvanized bucket with poultry nipple.

Has anyone used the poultry nipples on a galvanized bucket? All I see are ones used with plastic. I like the look of galvanized better plus plastic would last about a year here. Only concern is the wall might be to thin but I could calk or maybe fit a nut on the back to create a seal. Thoughts?

I haven't used one but as long as you don't add ACV to the water, it should be OK.
Try pipe dope or 100% silicone as a seal rather than caulk.

Thank you, Yes silicone I use caulk as an action not as actual caulk.

If it is 100% silicone, it will be ok for drinking water. If not, it won't.

Curious if you tried this. I'm wanting to get a maple syrup bucket and "tap" it with horizontal nipples.
