I got my Gosling 4 days ago. (The other one I ordered didn't make it so I'm supposed to get one with the next shipment in a couple weeks)

This is my first goose and I'm a paranoid person anyway so I just have some questions about what is normal or not.

This morning I came down and it's leg was stretched out behind him/her.

It seemed to have a runny nose last night (clear and looked like water) but it wasn't like that this morning.

He/she seems to be laying down a lot more.

How can I keep it from getting too depressed without a friend?

What should I be using for bedding? I'm worried about his/her feet and legs.

Thank you!

Congrats on the new addition! I'm sorry the other didn't make it :hugs

The leg stretch is something they do when relaxed, totally normal :)

Runny nose was likely just water like you thought.

For bedding anything like towels or paper towels is fine. Pine shavings are great too.

For leg issues, just make sure you're feeding a Flock Raiser or adding niacin to whatever chick feed you're feeding. A niacin deficiency will cause leg issues.

For company, a stuffed animal to snuggle with will help, or maybe even a mirror for now. Or a stuffed animal in front of the mirror so he still has something to snuggle with.
