Hi everyone. Thought I'd introduce myself. I started having chickens back in August thinking it would be a lot of work and little payoff. However I have become fond of my companions and their distinct personalities and really enjoy it.

I currently have 1 Americana, 1 polish, 2 reds, 1 old English, and a duck. I've lost some good companions to predators and learned the hard way about protecting them. I also just recently bought some silkies, japanese, and sebright chicks, which also presented many new challenges. This site has always been a big help and I enjoy browsing. Thanks everyone!
