My Emu hatching thread (come join me)

Well, I got talked into hatching emu's to keep.

I didn't take much convincing, they are big beautiful birds!

I will set the 5 eggs tomorrow after my incubator is sure and stable.

According to many websites, my incubator needs to be set at 96-97 degrees, and have a humidity of 30%-35%, then the last 3 days 50% - 55% humidity.

PLEASE let me know if any of that is wrong before I get going.
Also, i have various answers about how long it takes, so i think ill give a roundabout guess of 46-56 days. hahaha

I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE to hatch with you but, I have no eggs.

I am hoping to get some chicks soon as the gentleman that has them near me already has all his eggs in the bators. I will be watching this thread. Please post pics!

reminds me.... im sure yall want pics of the eggs..... ill put my button quail on it so u can be in awwwwweeee. LOL
 
Off the pamplet for my natureform incubator it says

For Incubation

96.5 - 97.1 Temp

33 - 43 % Humidity

Transfer to hatcher at 48 days



Hatcher

96.5 - 97.1 Temp

50 % Humidity

Will hatch from 48 to 54 days.
