Where I live the sun has finally hit the 12 hour mark from rise to set.
Today its 12:10 . Its growing fast now at 3 minutes a day more sun.

And I noticed yesterday the turkeys finally started the mating season.
The first hen is starting to sit for the tom.
First time I have noticed the hens waiting until the light shift.

So my conclusion is hens will not start to lay until the light is greater then 12 hours per day.

I am at 12 hours too-- and the girls are starting to lay, not all of them yet, but an increasing number.

Looks like the swans know it also.
Just saw a flock of trumpeters flying over between 50 and 100.
Spring is in the air.

Getting close to solstice so I would guess the eggs are going to stop soon.
Rises at 5:01 AM with 16:18 of sunlight, then sets at 9:19 PM.
I love this time of year but the lack of sleep gets to you with all that day time.

Longest day of the year is here.
Sunrise to sunset is 16:25 minutes.
My guess is now the turkey's will ween off egg production totally.
It has been slowing down but I still am getting a few.

Happy happy joy joy.
The shortest day of the year is here.
Rise to set 8 hours.
Less then half the light from summer to winter solstice.
