There was a mallard duck nesting in my backyard by my pond with 12 goldfish. I went down the stairs to clean the pond and as I was walking down she flew off. I didn't know she was there. She has one egg and did not cover it. She was digging another nest for some reason right next to the other one. There is a lake in my backyard that she flew into. It is going to be 36° tonight and I don't want it to die. What should I do?
