Hi. My chickens are 15 wks old and I got my first egg. Shell was very soft. I picked up layer feed to start and noticed it says don't feed prior to 18 wks. Does it matter that they are 15 wks? Comets are starting to get red. Bard rock red face. Buffs and archanas haven't gotten red in the face yet. Thank you

If you still have the regular feed left, I would feed it until you run out. You could offer some oyster shells or crushed up egg shells as a calcium supplement for them. At 15 weeks the layer feed probably won't hurt them either, but no use wasting the previous bag. And if they're laying, no need to worry about any age limitations.
