Ok so I am the proud owner of a stand up beverage cooler. The cooler quit cooling so now it is mine. As anyone who incubates eggs I instantly see my next incubator. I own a sportsman 1502 already and get good results with it. So I would like to turn my stand up cooler into a incubator very similar to my sportsman. The heat, humidity, airflow, and thermostat will be easy as I have built a very successful hatcher using the 225 incu kit from incubator warehouse. Its dummy proof so it was right up my alley. What I do not understand is how to build a egg turner like the one in the sportsman. I saw that I can buy the whole mechanism for about $150 with motor, switches and links. Can I save money if I build it myself? Has anyone built something similar if so what was the total cost of the turning mechanism? Or if you have a really idea of how to build one let me know.
