Hi,
My girls have settled in their coop nicely outside. We r really enjoying them, especially our daughter. I have read that sand is good instead of the wood chips in the coop. I have a bucket of sand from the beach. Can i use this or do i have to worry about the salt content?
I appreciate any advice.. Thank you. :)

"Everything in moderation" can be applied to most things. Some people here are for or against sand and its a personal preference. I would say that a small amount wont hurt, they might like to dust bath in it especially if it is mixed in with dry dirt. I wouldn't cover their coop/ run entirely in it as a thick layer as sometimes they will eat large ammounts of it which can cause problems in the crop/digestion system.
