Well today before we let out the other chickens, we thought it'd be a good time to 'do the deed' to the roo that attacks all the other hens. We were doing it with an axe to just off the head, my mother couldn't do it so I had to, heres where I f'd up.. Well I couldn't swing the axe for a short time, then when I did I hesitated and didn't finish it.. We picked him up and i swung again and he was gone. (so I hope he didn't suffer too much) But at this point I'm in my room feeling like a horrible person. If anyone has any ideas on how to get rid of this feeling I'd be up for it.
Thanks (also first time butchering ;-; )

Sorry for the circumstances. This is a learning process - you will not make this mistake again. Don't beat yourself up.

Hey- be kind to yourself; you did a hard thing. And wishing you'd been perfect will just help you get better.

We _all_ have harvests that don't go as planned. It's just the way it is in spite of our best intentions.

I'm proud you had it in you to finish the job and not just run away freaked out.

You did great.
