I have to disagree. I think my Royal Palms have beautiful heads. Their blue heads with red around their eyes and accenting their caruncles looks amazing against their striking white and sharply contrasting black feathers. If I had a picture of Gerald's head, I would have posted it. His head was almost completely blue colored and it was beautiful. I'm trying to breed for the more bluish colored heads in both my toms and hens just because it is more striking and, for my Royal Palms, makes their colors look more striking.
I love those face shots. The young narragansett toms I have now change their head color depending on their mood. They are most blue when they are interested in something, or showing off. The heads are very red when they are annoyed.
