This might be an odd question but I am building a brand new coop for standard sized chooks (thanks to my brother) that will be off the ground with an area underneath for them to walk under when it's rainy or snowy...
I need to know the size of some standard chickens in terms of height. I won't be adding any Jersey Giants (or at least I don't think so) but will be adding some Orpingtons at some point.. now I think those are more chunky than tall, but it made me realize that I have no idea what size to plan the first level at. Is 2 ft tall enough or should it be 2 1/2?
So can you guys tell me what size your tallest birds are? I will be keeping hens only, at least for now,)and there will be a separate area where the coop doesn't cover for any future roos and or the odd freakishly tall bird lol
Thanks,
Pepper
