I have two female Muscovy that have just started laying eggs. I thought they were seasonal layers like geese? We also have a drake, so would these eggs be fertile? This is our first time raising ducks. Any help is appreciated!

Is she acting broody? do you want ducklings? if not them of course take the eggs and eat them or bake something with them.We are in southern California. It's finally starting to get cooler. I've seen the drake mating with the one duck we know IS laying the eggs. I don't know if I should let her keep the eggs, or if I should take them from the nest.
So sounds like she maybe getting serious and it is unusual for my Muscovy's any that hatch say this year don't start to lay till following year usually around 8-9 months old. But you sure can't put them in a box and expect them all to act the same way that's for sure. So keep us updated and when ducklings hatch because of temps make sure she is doing all she can to keep them warm. being in So.Cal. your temps are probably still pretty nice but 35 days from now maybe not. How many eggs does she have?I wouldn't mind the ducklings. She's laid an egg and checked her nest daily. Today, she's sitting in it and not moving from it, so I'm guessing she's done laying. (At least that's how our geese acted, so that's what I'm going on.) I was just wondering if this was normal for them, because I had been told they were absolutely seasonal layers. She's about 7 months old.
