Hi!
My 6 year old hen, Violet, has been acting a bit weird lately. When she's roosting, I've noticed that her tail moves a bit as she breathes and she seems a bit more reserved than usual. Thinking it was a respiratory issue, I've been giving her Duramycin in her water for 5 days, but it hasn't done anything. She doesn't seem to have a runny nose or eyes.
Any help would be really appreciated!

It's hard to say what is wrong, if anything from your description. Aspergillosis, a respiratory disease from mold fungus can cause rapid breathing and silent gasping among other symptoms. If she has something wrong, and it is a virus or a fungus, then it will not respond to antibiotics. Here is a good list of common diseases and symptoms including aspergillosis: http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/ps044
