Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs did an episode of working in a hatchery. In that video the people doing the sexing show how its done.

You might be able to find the video on youtube or netflix?

They are too young to sex. I would post again in a few weeks. By then we should be able to ID their gender.

Both male and female Barred Rocks have the white dot on top of the head. It's the Black Sex Links (Barred Rock hybrids) where the females lack the white dot. Male BSL chicks look like Barred Rock chicks with the white dot. As far as their leg color goes, I wouldn't trust it for a positive gender identification.

You can sex barred chicks at hatch, but it takes a trained eye. The first chick looks male to me, with that large diffuse spot and looks like light colored legs. We'd need a pic of each bird, top of the head and then full body shot, in better lighting to get a good idea of leg color.

Well i bought these 3 at the feed store and there all supposed to be pullets, but the more i read the less sure i am of that this one seams to be the odd ball of the bunch, but they all have the same color legs...

This chick looks female. If they all have a dark wash of color down the front of the legs, they should all be female, assuming they're pure barred Rocks.
