Despite the crappy Minnesota weather nine of my ten hens laid eggs today. Not too shabby. One of them is consistantly over achieving as well. I only have two white egg layers, a buttercup and a California white leghorn, and I get a huge double yoker a couple times a week. I think they're coming from Spot the leghorn, one of the smallest chickens I have. Check that jumbo out:

Sounds like your chickens are doing their best to ignore winter!! I have a hen that lays enormous eggs like this too. It is a wonder they don't get stuck in there!

Enjoy all your eggs and stay warm up there! :)

Yeah it's kind of crazy. I thought when I got the first one or two back in August that it was an anomaly. Seems to be the norm with that chicken though. I am pretty happy that they continue to lay as well. I go through lots of eggs!
