Thanks guys, I don't know why it should surprise me that they could get that much color considering what they're crossed with. I guess I never thought about it, especially since mine and my neighbors are always so much darker. I'll let her know and be sure to keep this in mind for future reference.

Yes, they can have quite a lot of gold on them. It's variable. Here's one with even more colour I used to own, in the center:
