Dolly - 5 weeks. Plymouth barred rock.

Amelia -- 4 weeks, Wyandotte

Betsy -- 5 weeks. Rhode Island Red






Helen -- 4 weeks. Buff orphington



So I thought that every week I'll add new pictures because if you're like me, you're constantly looking at other people's chicks pictures trying to determine the sex. Once I know for sure, I'll let everyone know how mine turned out! Plus, it's fun showing them off.



Rhode Island Red - 6 weeks

Silver Laced Wyandotte - 5 weeks


Buff Orphington (maybe a cross? Yellow legs, some black feathers on her back) - 5 weeks

Dolly has the darker coloring of a barred rock pullet, but that comb is a little too pink at that age, in my opinion. Also, the stance shows a cockerel to me.
Amelia's comb also looks a bit too pink to me.

Helen- An uninformed guess of pullet

EDIT: Looking again at Dolly & seeing ThePRfan's bird below reminded me how red our boy's comb was at that age. Changing my guess to pullet for Dolly.

They all look like pullets for now, but it is still too young to be 100% certain.

They all look like pullets to me, except for perhaps the Silver Laced Wyandotte.

Thank you all! I emailed the hatchery I got them from and he thinks Dolly is a male but told me to wait 2 weeks and he should be able to tell for sure.

No one's screaming rooster yet, but give it another few weeks to be sure, especially on Helen. I'm wondering what's up with that bird anyway, Orpingtons are supposed to have white legs so I'm thinking it may be mixed or ?
