Hi everyone,

I have some shipped and local eggs coming in a few weeks and I want to use
a carton for the shipped eggs at least.

My husband got me a washable carton from work that has plenty of ventilation.

2 questions: any reason not to use plastic and how would you lay the eggs? Straight up
and down or at an angle?

Non fertilized eggs...egg on left is at an angle but secure and on the right is up and down.

Thank you!!

They need regular turning so unless you have another plan they're best at an angle or flat because the only way to turn them upright would be to tilt the whole plastic carton.

Thank you for replying! Yes I'll be turning them 5x a day but have never hatched
shipped eggs. I'm thinking I'll lay them at an angle and keep the shipped ones at a
steeper angle.

Thanks!

Maybe keeping the shipped ones upright for a couple days but turning is especially important in the early stages of incubation for both embryo nutrition and keeping the yolk from moving too far to one side.
