can i use cypress mulch that i have for my turtle for baby chicks

Don't use anything that is aromatic like cedar. Smell them- see if they are aromatic. Chickens can't handle volatile aromatic compounds very well. Sorry I do have cypress wood that I burn in the woodstove sometimes but don't really know if the wood chips would be too strong.


Pine is fine, etc.

Pine chips just smell fresh. Cedar chips smell kind of overpowering.
