Hi. Does anyone know why a red golden male pheasant would pluck his own saddle feathers and eat them? Thanks for any response

I've never raised pheasants, only chickens, but sometimes chickens will eat feathers due to not getting enough protein in their diet. Hope someone with some pheasant experience can help you out.

Good luck!
