What do you package your processed chickens in

We would like to sell our process chickens to friends. Shrink bags are expensive! what do you buy to package your chickens for other people/market in?

It depends on if the meat is going to be eaten within a few days, or if it is going to be frozen.

If it will be eaten in a few days... Saran Wrap.

If it will be frozen, then vacuum pack bags that work on the vacuum pack machine (I don't sell meat though... but that is how I would do it)

Oh wait! I did once sell duck meat to friends... but that was all cut up, so I handed it over in a zip lock

are you selling them whole?

We would just use large bread bags and zip tie them for friends and family.

For our public costumers we would use barrier bags. It does cost more, but the freezer life is much more. People tend to buy more quantities knowing their meat will last longer in the freezer.

If you are piecing them, then I would just vacuum seal.
