So I have had to do some searching for the breeds I want and have found them but not all of the are the same age. Will I be able to keep 3 - 8 week old chicks with some that are around 1-2 weeks old or will the younger ones get picked on or worse? TIA!

That's a big age difference, being as they need different heat requirements and yes the older ones might hurt the little ones. If you are getting them from different places - it would be a good idea to quarantine each group for a few weeks, just to make sure everyone is healthy. You could keep the young ones in brooder(s) until they are feathered out, then move them into a dog crate - put in the coop with the older ones. They could get used to each other but, still be protected for a week.

So I reconsidered getting the 1-2 week olds. Just don't want any problems for them. I guess I'll get new fluffies next year and stick with the older group that will be laying sooner anyways. Thanks everyone!
